Campaign Song

Brunetto on Minimum Wage

In order to stimulate the economy, it is necessary for a raise in minimum wage. With more money to spend, the idea is that us as citizens will pull our country out of this economic crisis. Too many people wonder wether they can afford to feed their children. The gap between the lower class and the wealthy is vastely growing. With a raise in minimum wage, this difference will significantlyl decrease. Vote Chris and the minimum wage will be raised to $10 an hour! Vote Chris and end this economic crisis! Vote Chris!

Brunetto on Foreign Policy

The foreign policy of a Brunetto White house will take on major changes. 4 years after election, troops in Iraq will be reduced to 50,000. Policy will be put in place to remove these troops, save for a battalion strength (Up to 3,000 troops) supporting a U.S. Embassy, in 20 months after the first term. While this is occurring, there will be a push for U.N. peacekeepers to be deployed in counter-terrorist operations. Any bill passed by congress pertaining to reducing the draft age and re-instating the draft will be vetoed. Only 27% of US troop strength is currently deployed out of the U.S., not including military reserves that surpass is nearly equal to the number active duty troops.

Brunetto on Education

As we prepare for college, some of our major concerns are the cost and the availability of finanical aid. The average cost of college tuition is $30,000 per year; this is only increasing.

What can Chris Brunetto do to decrease these costs?

Chris’s solutions include directing more money to universities to conduct research by eliminating earmarks (tax credits). Chris wants to make college more affordable by supporting a big increase in Pell Grants (a financial aid program) that Congress approved for needy students in 2007. He also backed the expansion of low-interest loans for middle-class families who are struggling to keep up with college tuition increases.

Candidates Face Off Over Economic Issues
October 24, 2008
Litchfield, Connecticut- Chris Brunetto of Litchfield High School recently addressed the citizens of the school in an impromptu speech made this morning. He expressed his concern over citizens registering to vote and making their voices heard through their right to vote. The students have yet to register but campaign posters have been appearing around the school. There has been a stream of advertisements referring to Chris Brunetto’s economic policies. Recently at a Merkitarian Party meeting Brunetto detailed his economic plan to members of the party. His plan included jump starting the economy by preventing millions of Americans from losing their jobs. Also he wants to provide tax relief to middle class families and protect homeowners with mortgage help. A major aspect of his plan is to create five million green jobs in America and to stop providing tax relief to companies that send jobs overseas. Brunetto’s plan was met with resounding approval. Although the students of Litchfield High School have yet to hear of the opponent Spencer Rust’s economic policies, Chris Brunetto appears to have captured the needs of the students with his economic plans.

Chris Brunetto’s Plan for the Economy:
Jump Start the Economy-
• Windfall Profits Tax; Give back $1,000 dollars to American families hard pressed to pay raising energy bills
• Prevent 1 Million Americans from Losing Their Jobs; Give $50 billion dollars back to the economy to prevent cutbacks on public works projects
Provide Tax Relief to Middle Class Americans-
• Tax cut for working families
• Simplify Tax Filings; spend less time on your taxes
Businesses-
• End Tax breaks for companies that send Jobs over seas; Make sure public contracts are given to American based companies with American workers
• Reward Companies that Support American Workers; Cut taxes for companies based in America who provide jobs to American workers
Create 5 million Green Jobs
• Create new jobs centered on clean energy industry; Invest in clean energy which will create more jobs in a different manufacturing sector and provide the United States with a renewable source of energy
Protect Homeownership and Help Mortgages
• Provide relief to homeowners; will provide credit to homeowners who make under $50,000 per year
• Stop Mortgage companies from applying for bankruptcy
Reform Bankruptcy policies

Brunetto on Environment

Essentially what this video is talking about is how the solar energy that the Sun gives off each day is not being put to good use. Solar panels are becoming more and more popular in states such as California. Solar panels are a good investment and buying in bulk is worth the initial price. This is not only an affordable alternative energy but it is clean. There are little to no Carbon Dioxide emissions and the only gases that are used as a backup are natural gasses.

The Problem
Industralized countries produce 75% of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide contributes about half of all of the greenhouses gases in the atmosphere. Because it is a result of many important and common processes we use every day, limiting their use is going to be a difficult, but forseeable task. The greenhouse gases are warming the Earth and some of the most important and destructive results are the polar ice caps melting and rising sea levels. This will mean many islands disappearing, flooding in coastlines, displaced families, and many crops ruined.
The Solution
One of the increasingly popular solutions to the global warming effect is alternative energy. There are many ways in which America can reduce our carbon dioxide and other pollutant emissions. Chris has recently been pushing for more wind and solar energy. Both of these energies emit little to no pollutants into the air. According to the National Geographic, “More energy falls as sunlight on the US in a single day, than it uses in a year.” All of this wasted energy, coming from the Sun and the wind needs to be put to use. Wind turbines and solar panels not only will reduce our emmissions, but also will decrease our foreign dependency, and our gas prices will inevidently go down. This is significant to our generation because this is our future. We need to stop the global warming before it becomes something that is inescapable and directly affects our lives everyday.
